If you love painting, drawing, sculpture, architecture, furniture, furnishings, interior decoration, jewellery, fine metalwork, ceramics, weaving, tapestry, embroidery, costume, floristry, dance, opera or music, and you have an interest in the history of human self-expression and the essence of good design, TASEG has much to offer you.

The core of our Programme is a sequence of ten monthly one-hour lectures, normally held on the second Tuesday at 10.50 in Chequer Mead Arts Centre, and two Special Interest Days (SIDS) held in autumn and spring, at The Ark, Turners Hill.

TASEG prides itself on a rigorous process for selecting first rate lecturers and Special Interest Day leaders.   For our part, we try to provide a balanced selection of talks to appeal to everyone and a range of excursions that can accommodate members at all levels of interest and means.

We also ensure there is an ongoing season of day outings to places of special and varied interest – from great houses to cemeteries, from museums to galleries, from castles to churches and from gardens to buildings, both ancient and modern.   On top of this, we usually have an annual visit to Glyndebourne.

In addition we organise four or five day art-orientated holidays at home and abroad.   For example, our October 2022 holiday was a 5 day visit to Italy to explore the cities of Vesuvius, the Isle of Ischia and the Amalfi Coast.  You can read a short review of the holiday HERE
